Operatioin Warm 2017 Willard School

On Wednesday November 30, 2016 Scranton Firefighters Local #60 visited Francis Willard School in West Side.  The annual Operation Warm  Coats for Kids fundraiser which raises money to buy winter coats which are made in the USA.  These coats are distributed to children in the Scranton School District and this year Willard was chosen, a total of 340 coats were distributed.  Special thanks to Pvt. Chuck Bartlebaugh and Pvt. Andy Polansky for organizing the drive.

On Sunday December 1, 2013 members of Scranton Firefighters Local #60 and the Scranton Police Department E.B. Jermyn Lodge #2  left their duty uniforms home and suited up for a grudge match on the gridiron. This year money was being raised to help "Coats for Kids, Operation Warm".

On Tuesday November 26, 2013 the members of the Scranton Fire Department Local #60 visited John Adams Elementary School hand out new winter coats for Operation Warm.  Local #60 partnered with Coats for Kids and raised $5,500 dollars to provide coats to 174 children.
Breast Cancer Awareness Check Presentation to the Susan G. Komen Foundation 11/26/2012

Members of  the Executive Board of Local #60 presented a check totaling $2,312.50 to a representative from the Susan G. Komen Foundation.  The money was collected during a fundraising t-shirt sale during the month of October.

This holiday season the members of Local 60 helped to make Christmas  wishes for children from the Lackawanna County Children and Youth Services.  Firefighter Brian Murray organized the effort by collecting letters from the children, and distributing them to the members of Local 60.  On December 14th Engine co.
Get Wheelin! Cancer Benefit for the Klee Family 9/19/10

On September 19, 2010 a benefit was held for Don Klee father of Firefighter Jeremy Klee.  Don was diagnosed with brain cancer three years ago and has fighting the disease since.  The event was held at Stirna's on Market St
SFD/Red Cross 5K Race 2010

On August 22, 2010 the Scranton Fire Fighters hosted a 5K Race to benefit the American Red Cross of Lackawanna County.With nearly 120 registered runners the race was a success despite a gloomy and rainy day.We wish to thank all the Runners, Walkers and Volunteers that made this event such a success.Congratulations to the inaugural winner, Scranton Fighter's own Jack Davis
MDA Summer Camp 6/15/10

On June 15, 2010 Firefighters from Scranton, Dunmore, Hazelton along with Linda and Ryan Robeson drove to Worcester Pa to lend a hand at MDA's summer camp.  They prepared lunch for 135 campers with muscular dystrophy

Pet fund raiser

Fundraiser Held  On March 28 & 29 Fetching Grooming Salon and Pet Boutique, 1928 Boulevard Ave. Scranton, held a fundraiser to supply the Scranton Fire Department and neighboring Fire Departments with canine oxygen masks. For $5 pet owners had an Easter picture taken of their pet. The masks come in a set which contains 3 different sizes
Guns and Hoses Football Game

On November 30, 2008 members of the Scranton Fire Dept. and Police Dept.  volunteered their time to play in the annual Guns and Hoses football game.  The game was held to raise money for the Scranton Area EOTC's Christmas Toy Drive and took place at the Riverfront Sports Complex
Charity Softball Game SFD vs The ARC

On September 24, 2008 members of the SFD led by coach Dolphin played a charity softball game against staff members from the ARC of Lackawanna County.  The game was held to raise money for the Robeson Memorial  Fund and The citizens of the ARC.  The SFD won the game 18-16. Thank to all who came out to show support. Fill the Boot MDA Fundraiser

 2008 MDA FundraiserThe Scranton Fire Fighters conduct their annual Fill the Boot campaign to raise money for the Muscular Dystrophy Association. The Fire Fighters collected donations at the entrances to the Mall at Steamtown and the La Festa Italiana in Downtown Scranton. SFD would like to thank the Local 60 Auxiliary for their help with the fundraiser

Charity Softball Game SFD vs WYOU

On Saturday August 16, 2008 members of the Scranton Fire Department  played a softball game against members of WYOU news.  All proceeds from the day would help in our annual MDA Fill the Boot collection.  Both teams enjoyed the event but in the end under the guidance of Coach Dolphin the SFD defeated WYOU 15 - 4 in 9 innings
James Robeson Memorial Ride

   On May 24, 2008 the 1st Annual James Robeson Memorial Ride was held. This event was organized by John Mattern and all proceeds were to benefit the Robeson Family. There were over 150 bikes registered for this inaugural ride
Firehouse Chili Challenge

On Saturday April 12, 2008 the Local 60 Auxiliary and WNEP hosted the FIREHOUSE CHILI CHALLENGE. The event was sponsored by the Scranton Fire Fighters IAFF Local 60, Local 60 Auxiliary, WNEP and Froggy 101. All proceeds benefit the Operation Save A Life Program

3rd Annual Bowling for the Brave

On December 1, 2007 the Scranton Fire Fighters Local 60 Auxiliary hosted its second annual Children's Christmas Party. This year the party was held in Scranton High School and was attended by more than 60 children. The children were treated to lunch, crafts, and a then special visit from Santa who handed out treat and gift bags to all the children

Dierolf Benefit

 DIEROLF BENEFIT A SUCCESS  THE BLACK SHEEP HOSTED A BENEFIT FOR RETIRED SCRANTON FIRE LIEUTENANT KEITH DIEROLF. THE BENEFIT WAS TO HELP OFFSET SOME OF KEITH'S MEDICAL BILLS. THE BENEFIT WAS A HUGE SUCCESS. MANY THANKS TO ALL THOSE INVOLVED
Joyce Benefit

On June 2, 2007 a memorial benefit was held at St. Josephs hall on Davis st.  The benefit was put together to help the family of Eddie Joyce. Eddie passed away in 2007 after retiring less than a year ago.  Donations from many business and families helped make this night a great success.  Eddie will be missed by all who knew and loved him
Ferke Benefit

On the evening of February 12, 2006 a benefit was held at Tinks Entertainment Complex to help the family of our brother Michael Ferke, who passed away suddenly. Mike was loved and respected by all who knew him, and hundreds turned out to help support his family,  Food and drinks were donated as well as prizes to be raffled
Party for Adam

On the afternoon of April 10, 2005 a fundraiser was held for cancer patient Adam Sloat.  The setting was Heil's and thanks to many generous donations the party was a great success.  Adam loved the fire service and volunteered at his hometown of Hartford. He would stop by Engine co. 9 and Fire Headquarters
