Operation Warm 2017 Willard School |

On Wednesday November 30, 2016 Scranton Firefighters Local #60 visited Francis Willard School in West Side. The annual Operation Warm Coats for Kids fundraiser which raises money to buy winter coats which are made in the USA. These coats are distributed to children in the Scranton School District and this year Willard was chosen, a total of 340 coats were distributed. Special thanks to Pvt. Chuck Bartlebaugh and Pvt. Andy Polansky for organizing the drive.

On Sunday December 1, 2013 members of Scranton Firefighters Local #60 and the Scranton Police Department E.B. Jermyn Lodge #2 left their duty uniforms home and suited up for a grudge match on the gridiron. This year money was being raised to help "Coats for Kids, Operation Warm".

On Tuesday November 26, 2013 the members of the Scranton Fire Department Local #60 visited John Adams Elementary School hand out new winter coats for Operation Warm. Local #60 partnered with Coats for Kids and raised $5,500 dollars to provide coats to 174 children.

Fundraiser Held On March 28 & 29 Fetching Grooming Salon and Pet Boutique, 1928 Boulevard Ave. Scranton, held a fundraiser to supply the Scranton Fire Department and neighboring Fire Departments with canine oxygen masks. For $5 pet owners had an Easter picture taken of their pet. The masks come in a set which contains 3 different sizes

On November 30, 2008 members of the Scranton Fire Dept. and Police Dept. volunteered their time to play in the annual Guns and Hoses football game. The game was held to raise money for the Scranton Area EOTC's Christmas Toy Drive and took place at the Riverfront Sports Complex

On September 24, 2008 members of the SFD led by coach Dolphin played a charity softball game against staff members from the ARC of Lackawanna County. All proceeds from the day would help in our annual MDA Fill the Boot collection. Both teams enjoyed the event but in the end under the guidance of Coach Dolphin the SFD defeated WYOU 15 - 4 in 9 innings

This year the party was held in Scranton High School and was attended by more than 60 children. Eddie passed away in 2007 after retiring less than a year ago. Donations from many business and families helped make this night a great success. Eddie will be missed by all who knew and loved him
