Two Dozen Cars Burn in Keyser Valley 9/5/2016 (PHOTOS)

At 6:28 pm on September 5, 2016 A fire was reported at a used car lot at 417 S. Keyser Ave. Engine Co. 7, Engine Co. 8, Rescue Co. 1, Truck Co. 4 and Car 21 were dispatched. Twenty four cars in total in an area about the size of a football field were fully involved creating a smoke column that could be seen for miles. Car 21 activated the SRN which brought Engine Co. 2 and Engine Co. 4 to the call, additionally Engine Co. 10 and the Fire Inspectors were called.  B-Shift crews worked at this laborious fire for hours keeping the flames from spreading to the structure on the property.  Off duty C- Shift personnel were called in to staff spare apparatus, by 9:43 all companies were clear from the scene. This fire was classified as an arson by the Fire Inspectors.

The Officer in Charge was Acting Assistant Chief, Capt. D. Schreiber
